Further afield, just 20 mins away in Aviemore, you'll find a good selection of eateries all of which are well worth a visit too:
Cafe Mambo: Born in 1998 Cafe Mambo is a thriving hot spot situated on the main street. Perfect to chill out with a jumbo coffee or world famous hot chocolate during the day. It gets really lively in the evenings and acts as the main pre-club bar at the weekends.
The Skiing Doo: Fantastic wee restaurant on the main street in Aviemore with an excellent atmosphere and great food. Good selection of veggie options (the veggie burger is highly recommended!) as well as meatier options.
La Taverna: A very popular Italian on the road into Aviemore on the ski road junction. The continental theme is echoed by the delightful alpine style oil painted illustrations, by Ann Vastano, which decorates the wooden beams and pillars of the Ristorante, Pizzeria and Bar. La Taverna has been under the personal supervision of the Vastano family for decades where standards and style have been influenced by continuity and continental flair.
Mountain Cafe Restaurant: A great place for an all day breakfast or a tasty piece of home made cake. All ingredients are locally sourced such as, salmon and fish, meat and poultry, fresh fruit and vegetables and they use fair-trade tea, coffee, hot chocolate & sugar. All their waste such as glass, cardboard, paper, aluminum and tin are recycled.
The Old Bridge Inn – This pub/restaurant is very pleasant in summer or winter. There is an open fire in the pub section and outdoor seats too for the summer. The restaurant serves very good food and it is child and dog friendly.
The Happy Haggis – A family business offering a good menu that includes breakfasts, fish & chips, deserts and of course haggis.
The Royal Tandoori – This Indian restaurant is very good. It is just as you enter Aviemore just before the Happy Haggis.
Inshriach Nursery Cafe – Enjoy fresh cakes watching the wildlife come and go. A real gem buried in the Rothiemurchus Estate. Take the back road to Aviemore through Insh and Glen Feshie, and it’s on the left.
