Highland Holiday Cottages near Aviemore were the first in Strathspey and Badenoch for self catering accommodation to attain Gold Eco-rating in the Green Business Tourism Awards.
Eco-tourism is about connecting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel. Along with our continued upgrade of existing facilities, Highland Holiday Cottages agree that in today's current climate, "improved environmental performance" equates to "enhanced business development". Highland Holiday Cottages are therefore committed to the implementation of proactive measures to help protect and sustain the local environment. Highland Holiday Cottages aims to achieve the objective of improved environmental performance through pollution prevention, increased customer / supplier awareness and continuous improvement. Our overall company aim is:
"To be in the top quartile in the Cairngorms National Park with regard to environmental performance for self catering, without affecting Quality".

GREEN NEWS - All our cottages have eco-friendly cleaning products for guests to use, electric meters - where guests can monitor their consumption, composting caddys for compostable kitchen waste, energy saving light bulbs wherever practical, and seven out of eight cottages have eco wood-burning stoves. It provides a much needed public transport link for residents and visitors between Blairgowrie in the south, and the Royal Deeside area of the Cairngorms National Park.
