The circuit round Ben Alder taking advantage of the excellent stalkers paths on the Ben Alder Estate is a justified classic in a stunning setting. The traditional route goes anti-clockwise and has a long hike-a-bike climb over the Bealach Breabag and less than perfect descent through the Bealach Beithe.
This route goes clockwise and avoids Bealach Breabag by starting with a ride along the shore of Loch Ericht with only a short section of hike-a-bike round An Dun (the headland before Ben Alder Cottage).
