Distance: 89.4km
Ascent: 1727m
Time: 6.5 - 8.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate/Difficult
An epic route crossing the Cairngorms twice in one day following two famous old drove routes. Not for the fainthearted, but the experience of travelling through truly remote and beautiful country is worth the effort. The route can be done in either direction, but is better when done clockwise as the Minigaig half is much better when done north to south.
For directions please refer to the Minigaig Pass and Gaick Pass pages to download directions for the two parts of the route.on is a big mountain day, with more than 26km of single track/open mountain riding 6km of which is above 1000m. While a tough undertaking, the setting, views and riding more than justify the effort.
