The Gaick Pass is a relatively straightforward ride which takes you into through remote country following one of the finest valleys in the Cairngorms and an old drove route. The ride is mostly on land rover tracks with a short section of single track at the head of the pass.
The ride can be done in either direction, but typically south to north as there is slightly less ascent in this direction and the prevailing wind is from the south-west. Riding into a headwind through the Gaick Pass is not for the fainthearted! The Gaick Pass is rideable under most conditions other than when snow is lying at low level or rivers are in spate.
