Shinty is a fast-paced team game played with sticks and a ball mainly played in the Scottish Highlands and is particularly important in the local area with both Newtonmore and Kingussie having teams in the Premier Division with an intense local rivalry. The season runs from early March to early September with games usually played on a Saturday.
